The first-ever weekly Festival Playlist challenge for Forza Horizon 6 forces us behind the wheel of the 2022 Toyota GR86. To claim our playlist points, the game demands two completely conflicting objectives: maintaining high speeds through open camera gates, followed by winning a tight, low-class technical race down the treacherous switchbacks of the Hakone Nanamagari Touge.
If you try to run a generic, single setup for both, you will fail. Instead, we engineered two highly specialized blueprints to check off the steps with ease.
Tune 1: The S1 “Alpine Gate” Power Build (Speed Zone Solver)
The first major hurdle of the challenge requires securing 3 Stars at a Speed Zone (such as the Tateyama Kurobe Alone Route). To carry maximum average velocity through the sweeping, high-altitude corners, this setup converts the lightweight GR86 chassis into an aggressive, high-horsepower S1-Class grip monster.
The Parts Checklist
To maximize straight-line acceleration without sacrificing mechanical traction, install these exact components:
- Engine: Upgrade the Intake, Cams, Exhaust, Displacement, and Pistons to maximize the output of the 2.4L power unit.
- Drivetrain Conversion: Install an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) swap. This ensures zero wheelspin when launching from an off-track starting point and maximizes power distribution out of sudden corner midpoints.
- Transmission: Install a 7-Speed Race Transmission (or the low-PI 4-Speed Drift/Drag Box). Leaving the factory transmission chokes the upgraded motor at a strict 144 mph ceiling—upgrading the gearbox is essential to fully open up the engine’s power band.
The Tuning Baseline
Once your upgrades are locked in, navigate to the tuning menu to remove the factory top-speed limits:
- Gearing Layout: Go directly to the Gearing tab and shift the Final Drive slider firmly toward Speed. Keep adjusting the slider until your performance graph in the bottom-left corner displays a top-end terminal velocity of 165–170 mph.
- Alignment: Run a highly aggressive 6.5 to 7.0 Front Caster setup. This works beautifully alongside the AWD configuration, keeping your steering responsive and stabilizing the car over changing elevations.

Tune 2: The B-599 “Pure Platform” Touge Killer
Once the speed zones are clear, the final step locks the event down to a strict B-600 limit on a tight circuit dominated by relentless hairpins. To get our S1 monster safely down to B class without destroying its cornering soul, we utilized a “Chassis over Power” diet.
The Upgrade Formula (Stripping the PI)
Instead of running a heavy, sluggish car with a modified engine, we stripped the motor completely back to stock bolt-ons and invested every single performance point into chassis rigidity and mechanical grip.
- The Engine Diet: Revert the Intake, Exhaust, Cams, and Pistons completely to Stock.
- The Power Exception: Retain the Street Centrifugal Supercharger. Its linear, RPM-scaled boost curve delivery guarantees smooth acceleration out of slow corners without shocking the tires into wheelspin.
- The Structural Backbone: Keep Race Brakes, Race Springs, and the full Race Roll Cage installed. The cage maximizes torsional rigidity, making steering response instantaneous through quick transitions.
- The Widebody Advantage: Install the full Rocket Bunny Widebody Kit. The widened wheel track stabilizes lateral body roll naturally, saving precious PI points otherwise wasted on expensive weight reduction.
The Ultimate B-599 Meta Alignment & Settings
By fine-tuning the sliders, we achieved an absolute weapon optimized perfectly for Horizon’s handling physics:
| Tuning Menu | Slider Setting | Meta Reasoning |
| Tires | 31.0 PSI Front & Rear | Balanced hot pressures that settle right in the 33-34 PSI sweet spot. |
| Tire Width | 255mm Front / 305mm Rear | Maxing front width to 255mm utilizes all remaining PI up to 599, completely eliminating entry understeer. |
| Chassis Balances | 0.60 Mech. Balance / 0.50 Aero | The absolute golden physics target for neutral, level cornering transitions. |
| Anti-Roll Bars | 1.0 Front / 65.0 Rear | The definitive AWD meta exploit. Forces the stiff rear end to rotate the car cleanly through tight hairpins. |
